Hey, I’m Andrew.
I’ve always been drawn to communication – something about the way words can influence and inspire people kind of hooked me early on. Over the years, through all kinds of leadership and speaking roles, I started to realize: the mic holds power. People pay attention to whoever’s holding it. It wasn’t always smooth sailing with all that attention though.
A year into grad school, I found myself on staff as a pastor, handed a mic and a stage to lead a student ministry. Not long after, I was asked to fill-in as host of our weekend services. So, I ran the play from my boss’ playbook. I wrote a script and tried to memorize it.
And then, in front of a thousand people… I blanked. I dipped below camera view, grabbed my notes, and stumbled through that service and the rest of the weekend. After that? I got benched.
I tried different frameworks and structures to guide my communication, but they never seemed to fit. It created more pressure that only made me more nervous and less like myself.
There were moments I wanted to quit. I thought: if that’s the pressure that comes with the mic – I’m out! But with encouragement, feedback, and coaching from a few mentors – I kept rolling.
I learned how to stop imitating others and prepare in a way that helped me show up as me.
That shift changed everything. I learned how to be the same person on stage as I was in the lobby after service – and with that came more clarity, more confidence, and more trust. Not just as a communicator, but as a leader.
Now, I help others do the same.
Outside of work, I’m married to an Enneagram 3 so I’m constantly trying to keep up with all we’ve got on the agenda with our 3 kids, 4 and under. We live in Minnesota (but we’re still teaching the kids ‘go pack go’). And when I’m not working, I’m out for a run, on the golf course or as close to water as possible.
Can’t wait to get started with you!
